Project Overview

The Casio A100WE holds a special place in my heart as one of my favorite watches. Inspired by its retro design and timeless appeal, I embarked on a passion project to recreate the watch digitally, bringing it to life through 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation.

The goal was to create a fully functional digital replica of the watch, complete with animated details like the number plate, to showcase its intricate design and mechanics. This project was a labor of love, combining technical skill with creative vision to pay homage to a classic timepiece.

The Challenge

The main challenge was to animate every detail of the Casio A100WE, including the number plate, to create a “fully functioning” digital watch. This required:

  • Accurately modeling the watch’s complex geometry, including its buttons, display, and strap.
  • Texturing the model to replicate the materials, such as the metallic finish, plastic casing, and LCD screen.
  • Rigging and animating the watch to simulate its functionality, including the movement of the number plate and the interaction of buttons.

The project demanded precision and attention to detail to ensure the digital version felt as authentic as the real thing.

The Result

The project resulted in a stunning digital replica of the Casio A100WE, complete with realistic textures and animations that brought the watch to life. The number plate animation, in particular, added a layer of authenticity, making the digital version feel as functional as the real thing.

This passion project not only showcased my technical skills in 3D modeling and animation but also allowed me to pay tribute to a design I deeply admire. The final renders and animations were a testament to the power of combining creativity with precision.
